John Holland Owner / AIA

John Holland has had a distinguished 30-year career as a registered architect in Massachusetts and Vermont and a 35-year tenure as a licensed builder. His broad experience spans residential, commercial, and adaptive reuse projects, along with extensive urban and suburban remodels, primarily through Holland Construction and Holland Development. Key highlights include:

1.     Mixed-Use Development at 46 Wareham Street: An 85,000-square-foot, seven-story building with residential and commercial spaces, and Boston's first fully automated parking garage. The project had a construction value of $42 million and generated significant revenue from residential sales and commercial leases.

2.     Adaptive Reuse of Jordan Marsh Horse Stables: This project involved transforming historic stables at 477-481 Harrison Avenue into a space with 14 residential condominiums and commercial offices, maintaining the architectural integrity while modernizing the facility, with a total construction value of $26 million.

3.     Peace Field Farm in Woodstock, Vermont: John reactivated a dormant 200-acre farm, adding townhouse units and remodeling apartments for workforce housing. This farm now supports a vertically integrated farm-to-table hospitality business that feeds four restaurants, creating a sustainable community asset.

In addition to these landmark projects, John has also been involved in numerous remodeling townhouses and suburban homes around Boston, enhancing his portfolio with various residential developments. His educational background from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and his hands-on management style at the Holland Companies highlight his comprehensive approach to architectural design and project management.
